Kansas – Kyle Bauer’s Kansas Broadcast Company has filed a $2,710,000 deal to buy seven stations from Rocking M Media. In Dodge City, KS Bauer buys classic hits “Super Hits 95.5” KAHE, regional Mexican “La Mexicana” KZRD (93.9), country “96.3 The Marshal” KERP, and talk KGNO (1370). In Colby, KS, Bauer buys hot AC “The Ride 100.3” KRDQ, “Flyover Country 97.9” KWGB, classic country KXXX (790). And in Liberal, KS, Bauer buys regional Mexican “La Mexicana” KSMM (101.5) And in Goodland, KS, he buys classic rock “102.5 U-Rock” KKCI and “Fox Sports 730” KLOE. Bauer already owns AC KCLY (100.9) and “Farm Radio 550” KFRM in the Salina-Manhattan, KS market, The sale is part of the chapter 7 liquidation of Monte and Doris Miller’s Rocking M Media. Ohio – Total Media Group has filed a $1.25 million deal to buy classic rock “The Breeze 107.5” WZZZ, AC “Mix 99.3” WNXT and “Sports Mouth 1260” WNXT in Portsmouth, OH from Hometown Broadcasting. The deal also includes the Portsmouth, OH-licensed translator W239CQ at 95.7 FM which simulcasts WNXT-AM. Total Media Group already owns several stations in the region.

Iowa & North Carolina – Davis Media has filed an $800,000 deal to buy six stations and one translator from Jam Media Solutions. In Muscatine, IA, Davis Media buys rock “93.1 The Buzz” KMCS, talk KWPC (860). It also buys the Muscatine, IA-licensed translator K236CF at 95.1 FM which simulcasts KWPC. And on the North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Davis Media buys hot AC “Beach 104.1” WCXL, country “Big 94.5 FM” WCMS, adult alternative “99.1 The Sound” WVOD, and classic rock “Z-92.3” WZPR. Both markets are new for Davis Media, which will operate the clusters under a time brokerage agreement until closing. The filing says Davis Media will withhold $150,000 from the purchase price to correct any antenna, transmission line, lighting, structural, or maintenance issues on the WCMS tower. Media planning and buying agency Jam Media Solutions purchased the six radio stations and two newspapers in 2018 for a combined $1.75 million. The sale is the result of the bankruptcy of Jam Media Solutions. It filed chapter 11 in Oct. 2022 and then it was converted to chapter 7 in Aug. 2023 when Jeffrey Testa was appointed the trustee to liquidate the assets. Davis Media already owns adult alternative “98.3 The Penguin” WUIN, Oak Island, NC and country “93.7 The Dude” WNTB, Topsail Beach, NC, but neither overlaps with the Outer Banks signals. It also owns two stations in Virginia.

St. Louis – Greg Hoskin’s Better Newspapers has filed a $150,000 deal to buy adult hits “Max 96.7” WCXO from John Perrine’s Clinton County Broadcasting. The deal includes a promissory note for the full purchase price. Better Newspapers has operated WCXO under a time brokerage agreement since October. It already owns five stations in the region, including classic rock “Q-94” KSPQ, classic country KUKU (100.3), country KKDY (102.5), hot AC “The Fox 96.9” KUPH, and “News Radio 1450” KWPM.

Colorado – Jose Ramos and Francisca Carrillo’s Beacon Broadcast, LLC has filed a $100,000 deal to buy country KVAY, Lamar, CO (105.7) from Bob DeLancey’s Beacon Broadcasting. Ahead of closing, Beacon Broadcast will operate the station under a local marketing agreement.

Indiana – Greensburg Community School Corporation has filed a $65,000 deal to buy contemporary Christian WEGT, Greensburg, IN (89.9) from Kathy Verseman and Sandy Biddinger’s Two Black Cadillacs. The station will drop its religious format for educational and instructional programming. Once the sale closes, Verseman and Biddinger will still each own a third of “Tree Country 1330” WTRE in Greensburg, IN.

TRANSLATOR SALES

Idaho – The Idaho Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has filed a $10,000 deal to buy the Burley, ID-licensed translator K208FB at 89.5 FM from 247 Media Ministries. Idaho Conference plans to simulcast Boise Christian rock “Project 88.7” KOAY on the signal. It already relays on the Baker City, OR-licensed K229AY at 93.7 FM.

CLOSINGS

Virginia – Chuck Marsh’s Blue Ridge Media Partners closed filed a $495,000 deal to buy classic hits “Kool 95.3” WXBX, Rural Retreat, VA; country WYVE, Wytheville, VA (1280); and soft AC “Loyal 660” WLOY, Rural Retreat, VA from James Brown-led Three Rivers Media. Also included in the deal are two FM translators including the Wytheville, VA-licensed W260DI at 99.9 FM which simulcast WYVE. And the Rural Retreat, VA-licensed W227DS at 93.3 FM. Marsh is also President of Alamance Media Partners, which owns county “Maverick” WSML (1200), country “Rebel” WMFR (1230), and contemporary Christian “Hope” WPCM (920) in the Greensboro-Winston Salem, NC market. Oklahoma – Tri State Media has closed a $300,000 deal to buy talk “Z-92” KMZE and country “K-101.1” KWOX in Woodward, OK from Brooke Williams. Tri State Media does not own any other stations.

Kansas – Steckline Communications has closed a $175,000 deal to buy country “Coyote 93.9” KOTE, Eureka, KS from Stephen J. Brown. It does not overlap with any of Steckline’s other seven Kansas stations.

Wyoming & Nebraska – Hi-Line Radio Fellowship has closed a $50,000 deal to buy variety “K-Rocky” KRKY, Douglas, WY (88.7); and two construction permits including KAVA, Kimball, NE (88.1) and KKWY, Wheatland, WY (88.1) from Michael Radio Group.
