    Radio proximity to the point of purchase is getting a new lease on life from the digital dashboard. Speaking at NAB Show 2024 Tuesday in Las Vegas, Beasley Media Group Chief Revenue Officer Tina Murley said most of its advertising now has a synchronized visual element displayed on car dashboards. Murley said the combination of audio and visual messages delivered close to the point of purchase has been shown to produce a 60% brand lift for clients.     MediaCo Holding, which owns rhythmic CHR “Hot 97” WQHT and urban AC WBLS (107.5) in New York, is acquiring Estrella Media’s network, content, digital, and commercial operations from Estrella Broadcasting. The stock and cash deal does not initially include the dozen Estrella Media-owned radio and TV stations, but MediaCo received an option to acquire those stations at a future date, subject to required regulatory approval.     iHeartMedia San Francisco makes two programming appointments within the cluster. Dan Hunt is named PD of “Wild 94.9” KYLD and Travis Loughran takes on the PD role at “Star 101.3” KIOI. The two assume oversight of the stations from VP/Programming Mark Adams, who is heading to “Z100” New York.     Davis Media expands into two new markets with the $800,000 purchase of six radio stations from Jam Media Solutions. Media planning and buying agency Jam Media Solutions acquired the stations in 2018 for $1.75 million. The sale is part of the company’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation. Davis Media gains two stations in Muscatine, IA, and a four-station cluster on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.     Adam Carolla stunned a lot of people in radio when in 2009, after his syndicated morning show came to an end with a Los Angeles format change, he announced he would become a podcaster. Now 15 years and more than five thousand episodes later, PodcastOne says The Adam Carolla Show has had nearly 600 million downloads.     Bob Boilen, creator of “All Songs Considered” and the “Tiny Desk Concerts” who left NPR in September 2023, has been named PD of low-power FM radio station WOWD Takoma Park, MD (94.3).
